Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Swick!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice sprawl there from Swick as Kim shoots in.
Swick fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kim avoids it really well and circles away.

Swick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kim tries to clinch up but Swick circles away and keeps his distance.

Kim scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Swick is trying to maintain the position but Kim is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Swick drops back looking for a leg! Kim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kim manages to kick Swick off! Swick jumps back into Kim's guard.

Swick stands and steps away. Kim gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Swick tries to bum rush Kim with a series of wild strikes but Kim uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Swick paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kim misses with a series of wild punches.

Swick feints and as Kim raises his hands in defense, Swick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kim has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Swick is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kim.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Swick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Swick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Swick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Swick shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kim shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kim was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kim has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Swick wants to control his opponent's hands but Kim gets his hands free.
Swick tries to escape but Kim has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Swick is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Kim is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Swick defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kim tries to keep control of the position but Swick is staying busy.

Swick shoots in for a double leg but Kim sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kim is looking for a triangle but Swick pushes his legs off easily.

Kim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Swick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Swick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Swick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Swick is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kim is just riding it out for now. Swick eventually gives up the hold.
Jake Swick is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mikey Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kim flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jake Swick.
Well Swick has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
