And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz misses with a head kick.
Hernandez dives in and scores a takedown into Ruiz's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruiz has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hernandez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Ruiz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hernandez decides to pull guard.
Hernandez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

and Ruiz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ruiz scores with a jab to the body.

enabling Ruiz to counter with a crisp jab.
Hernandez has managed to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hernandez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruiz tries to sprawl but Hernandez drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Ruiz kicks Hernandez off and gets back to his feet.
Hernandez looks winded!

Ruiz throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hernandez is still on wobbly legs! Can Ruiz finish him?
Ruiz throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Ruiz drops Hernandez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Ruiz follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
