Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 4124 p4p, 3073 weight class) and Paul Herrera (ranked 487 p4p, 384 weight class). Paul Herrera has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Herrera!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendy throws an overhand right that lands on Herrera's shoulder, as Herrera tries to avoid the shot.
Herrera throws a fast counter high kick but Mendy manages to duck under it in time.
Herrera's coach down at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Herrera's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Herrera looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Herrera follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Herrera drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mendy sneaks out the side door and pushes Herrera away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Mendy is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Kaptajnernes Træningscenter that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Herrera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mendy looks up at the clock and then as Herrera takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mendy smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Mendy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mendy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mendy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Herrera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mendy is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Herrera is hurt! He's hurt bad - Mendy fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Herrera from any more punishment! Congratulations to Mendy! Great finish!

Pierre Ragout Mendy gave a mention to Altitude Clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Paul Herrera spoke after the fight, saying 'I love you all!'.
