PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 5342 p4p, 5244 weight class) and Kumshot Sakiki (ranked 631 p4p, 627 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kumshot Sakiki!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakiki takes a kick to the side of the head.

Sakiki looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Sakiki is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jones can't fight it off and eventually Sakiki manages to take the fight to the floor. Jones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Sakiki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Sakiki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Sakiki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
