Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rashid Atkins (ranked 4216 p4p, 24760 weight class) and Mew Choo Two (ranked 453 p4p, 548 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashid Atkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mew Choo Two!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Atkins. Beautiful body shot.
Rashid Atkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Atkins misses the shot to the body.
Choo Two lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Atkins shoots in and gets a takedown into Choo Two's guard.
Choo Two can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Atkins controls the pace.

Choo Two looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Atkins passes into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Choo Two tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Atkins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Choo Two tries to buck Atkins off but Atkins is having none of it.
The referee asks Atkins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Atkins prefers to stall for the moment though.

Atkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Choo Two is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Choo Two is trying to improve his position.

Atkins remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Atkins lands with a nice body punch.
Choo Two throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Choo Two throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Choo Two turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Atkins is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Choo Two's half guard.

Choo Two looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Atkins seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Choo Two for as long as he can get away with.

Atkins is looking to pass into half guard but Choo Two pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Choo Two is in guard.

Atkins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rashid Atkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Choo Two looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Atkins perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Atkins continues to stall.

Choo Two is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Atkins pulls his head out easily.

Choo Two is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Atkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Atkins's back!

Atkins defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Choo Two has his foot on Atkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Atkins works his way back into a safe position though.
Atkins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mew Choo Two has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Atkins has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Choo Two.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Atkins is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Choo Two's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Atkins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
