Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Itzik HaKotesh (ranked 4312 p4p, 4261 weight class) and Sijbrand Akkersdijk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Itzik HaKotesh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sijbrand Akkersdijk!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akkersdijk has a takedown stuffed.
Akkersdijk throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
HaKotesh slips under a jab from Akkersdijk.
Akkersdijk misses with the combination.
HaKotesh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
HaKotesh punishes Akkersdijk's body with a nice straight punch.

HaKotesh darts in and clinches Akkersdijk up against the cage.

HaKotesh breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from HaKotesh.
Akkersdijk drops down looking to force a counter takedown but HaKotesh defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akkersdijk lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

HaKotesh seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and HaKotesh counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
HaKotesh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Akkersdijk.
Akkersdijk jabs HaKotesh right on the nose. HaKotesh blinks but takes it well.

HaKotesh closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
HaKotesh is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Akkersdijk can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
HaKotesh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Akkersdijk.
Akkersdijk connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between HaKotesh's hands.

HaKotesh closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

HaKotesh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Itzik HaKotesh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
