Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 1842 p4p, 2318 weight class) and Josue Souza (ranked 211 p4p, 257 weight class). Brock Lesnar could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Josue Souza's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Lesnar! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josue Souza! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza lands a head shot. Souza scores with a jab. Lesnar acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Josue Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Souza moves into the clinch. Lesnar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Souza not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lesnar tries to free his leg and advance position but Souza is retaining full guard. Lesnar trying to control but Souza is working from the bottom. Souza escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesnar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lesnar is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Sydney Top Team that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Lesnar controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Lesnar stands and throws Souza's legs to the side, diving into side control. Souza is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Souza is not content to let Lesnar control the position. Souza manages to get back to half guard. Lesnar is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lesnar controlling from the top position. Souza keeping moving, preventing Lesnar from controlling successfully. Souza escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesnar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Souza is looking for a triangle but Lesnar pushes his legs off easily.
Lesnar trying to control but Souza is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Souza has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lesnar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Souza.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lesnar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Souza is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lesnar trying to control the action but Souza is working from the bottom. Souza is trying to control Lesnar's posture but Lesnar avoids it. The ground and pound from Lesnar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lesnar tries for a kimura but Souza is defending well. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lesnar postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brock Lesnar dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Lesnar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lesnar throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range. Brock Lesnar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fight stays on the outside here - Souza looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Souza throws a series of punches but Lesnar avoids them all with ease. Lesnar throws a big shot that misses. Souza defending well as Lesnar loads up on a big left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Souza takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Josue Souza has been cut. Lesnar slips a straight right by Souza. Lesnar was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Souza misses with an uppercut. Lesnar saw that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesnar tries to score with a low kick but Souza moves his leg out of the way. Jab by Lesnar. Souza tries to clinch but Lesnar moves out of range. Lesnar just misses with a punch to the body.

and Lesnar counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Souza's corner calls for a 1-2. Souza obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Brock Lesnar is winning the standup battle so far. Lesnar misses with a hook
and Souza counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Souza. Lesnar blocking some punches.

Lesnar is trying to drag Souza to the mat but Souza just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Souza prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Souza tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Souza scores with an uppercut up the middle. Lesnar decides to pull guard. Lesnar keeping moving, preventing Souza from controlling successfully. Souza slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lesnar has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Souza should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lesnar has tightened it up now! Souza should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
