Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Larson (ranked 5200 p4p, 3499 weight class) and Phu Hoang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phu Hoang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Larson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phu Hoang! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoang throws a half hearted mid kick. Hoang displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Larson throws out the jab. Hoang has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hoang pushes Larson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Hoang pulls guard. Hoang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Larson's guard. Larson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hoang dives into side control.
Hoang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoang tries to advance to mount but can't. Hoang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Larson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Larson tries to buck Hoang off but Hoang is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Larson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hoang asserts his dominance and retains side control. Hoang tries to advance to mount but can't. Hoang just content to control the position. Hoang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Larson has escaped the position, nice work there. Larson wants to get back to his feet but Hoang is dominant here and he's now got Larson's back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoang keeps control of the position as Larson tries to break free.
Larson is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. Hoang sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Larson has no choice but to tap and Hoang jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Phu Hoang!
