Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Char Donnay (ranked 2325 p4p, 2135 weight class) and Timothy Combs (ranked 283 p4p, 256 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Char Donnay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Timothy Combs! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donnay misses with a low kick. Donnay motions for Combs to come forward. Donnay throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Nice takedown defense from Donnay. No joy for Combs on that attempt. Combs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Combs keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Donnay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. As Combs backs away, Donnay returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Combs scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Donnay looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Combs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Donnay counters with a good low kick that Combs was not able to check. Char Donnay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Timothy Combs. A low kick from Donnay is predictable there and Combs decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Donnay's guard. Combs trying to control but Donnay is working from the bottom. Donnay lands an upkick as Combs stands over him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Combs is working Donnay over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Donnay is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Donnay is working hard here to advance position. Combs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Donnay tries to strike from the bottom.
Donnay keeping full guard, as Combs tries to pass. Donnay keeping moving, preventing Combs from controlling successfully. Donnay throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Combs passes into half guard. Donnay is looking for a sweep. Combs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Combs trying to control from half guard but Donnay is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donnay works his way to full guard. Good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Donnay wants to sweep but no luck. Combs trying to control the position from guard on top but Donnay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Combs sitting in guard, not really doing much. Donnay looking for subs off his back but Combs has passed one foot through into half guard.
Donnay tries to roll over but Combs keeps him under control. Combs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Donnay keeps working. Combs is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Donnay is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Combs lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Combs working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Donnay makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Donnay. Donnay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Donnay lands a nice short elbow. Combs tries to roll over but Donnay keeps him under control. Combs trying to hold on to Donnay's head to control him but Donnay postures up.
Combs gets full guard. Combs avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Donnay works over Combs with some ground and pound from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Combs is looking to cinch up a triangle. Donnay throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Combs's body to avoid the submission. Combs has instead reached around Donnay's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Combs arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Timothy Combs! A less than humble Timothy Combs misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
