The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Stroheim closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Von Stroheim.
John swings wildly with an uppercut but Von Stroheim uses good head movement to avoid it.
Von Stroheim is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Von Stroheim misses with a hook to the ribs.
Von Stroheim breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Von Stroheim throws out a loose jab but John uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Von Stroheim goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John breaks from the clinch.

and John counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Von Stroheim counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Von Stroheim has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
John gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Von Stroheim.
Von Stroheim throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
John throws a looping overhand right but Von Stroheim ducks down to avoid it.
John blocks a jab.
John connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

John scores with a sloppy right hand. Von Stroheim should have avoided that one.

Von Stroheim's corner calls for a 1-2. Von Stroheim obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
