Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandros Nicolaou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicolaou has chosen Anubis as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mateus Gracie has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicolaou tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nicolaou pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nicolaou fails with a takedown attempt.
Gracie blocks a low kick nicely.
Nicolaou fails with a takedown attempt.
A swing and a miss from Nicolaou.
Nicolaou tries a head kick but it misses.
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nicolaou.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nicolaou misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming.
Nicolaou throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Alexandros Nicolaou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nicolaou throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
Nicolaou throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nicolaou.

Nicolaou pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nicolaou to the mat! Nicolaou manages to get full guard.
Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nicolaou can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Nicolaou is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nicolaou is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.
Nicolaou is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nicolaou is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Nicolaou is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Nicolaou is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie stops Nicolaou from getting back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nicolaou lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.
Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nicolaou chips away with some ground and pound.
Nicolaou tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
Nicolaou really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie is looking to reverse the position.
Nicolaou trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Gracie manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nicolaou's best efforts.

Nicolaou is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gracie is not content to let Nicolaou control the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Gracie manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Nicolaou lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Nicolaou looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Nicolaou throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.
Nicolaou throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nicolaou throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Gracie pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nicolaou is out of range and Gracie settles back down.

Nicolaou rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Nicolaou!

Gracie throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Nicolaou has his hands clasped together but Gracie breaks the hold and Nicolaou is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Gracie!
