Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Montesh Dominguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Rudolf Meine! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dominguez tries to land a front kick but Meine steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Meine throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dominguez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Meine scores with a punch to the head. Dominguez is looking to clinch. Meine tries to counter with a clinch but Dominguez shakes him off and moves away. Dominguez takes a shot right to the bread basket. Dominguez misses with a head kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Meine throws a body punch but Dominguez moves out of range. The crowd cheers as Dominguez lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meine doesn't seem phased though. Dominguez slips a straight right by Meine. Meine scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Dominguez throws a low kick but Meine moves out of range easily. Dominguez staying out of range there. Dominguez throws a series of punches but Meine avoids them all with ease. Nice defenses there by Dominguez. Rudolf Meine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Dominguez. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dominguez slips a straight right by Meine. Meine moves out of range of the body kick from Dominguez.

Dominguez lands a nice hook to Meine's body. Meine takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meine chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Meine moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Meine throws a looping overhand right but Dominguez ducks down to avoid it. Dominguez looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Meine is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. A telegraphed right hand from Dominguez misses the target. Meine misses with a body shot.
Dominguez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dominguez has Meine up against the cage in a clinch.
Dominguez scores with a knee to the head.
Meine tries to pull guard but Dominguez won't allow it.
Dominguez tries to work over Meine's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Meine digs a right hand underneath Dominguez's ribcage. Dominguez let out a lung full of air as it connected. Meine lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. I was talking to Dominguez's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A shot in the inside from Meine. Meine pulls guard effortlessly. Dominguez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. This has been an exciting period of action! Meine is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dominguez is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Meine working for submissions but it's allowed Dominguez to get to half guard.
Meine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dominguez pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dominguez trying to pass the guard but Meine defending well. Dominguez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dominguez is taking a breather. Meine says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Dominguez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Meine tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dominguez!
