The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Okoye shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anderson defends it nicely. Okoye gets tackled into the ropes by Anderson. Anderson maintains the clinch. Okoye is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Anderson to keep the fight standing. Anderson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Okoye prevents it.
Anderson tightens his grip and picks Okoye up, before dumping him to the ground. Okoye manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Okoye (0) vs (2) Anderson Okoye is pulling down on Anderson's head. It's preventing any offense from Anderson, at least for the moment. Okoye not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Okoye wants to control the position but Anderson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Anderson working for a submission but Okoye is keeping him at bay. Anderson tries to control but Okoye wriggling away. Anderson controlling the pace for now. Okoye can't escape the position.
Okoye might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Anderson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson fails to move to back control. Anderson content just to control the position here. Okoye is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Okoye is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Well, with Anderson on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Okoye is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Okoye prevents Anderson from getting a body triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Okoye defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Anderson's arms. Okoye rolls, trying to escape but Anderson keeps control of the position.
Okoye just trying to survive but Anderson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Anderson is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Okoye has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Anderson has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Okoye taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Anderson doesn't care though - he's delighted!
