Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Gaucho (ranked 4350 p4p, 4249 weight class) and Matrin Salvador (ranked 508 p4p, 501 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sebastian Gaucho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matrin Salvador!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Gaucho has Salvador pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gaucho pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Salvador tumbling to the mat - Gaucho dives into Salvador's guard.

Gaucho drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Salvador dives on top into guard.

Salvador postures up in Gaucho's guard and throws a big left but Gaucho blocks it.

Gaucho is looking for a triangle but Salvador pushes his legs off easily.
Salvador in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Salvador wanted to stand there but Gaucho had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salvador postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gaucho is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Salvador, into his guard.


Gaucho drops back, looking for a kneebar! Salvador looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Salvador looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Salvador!

Gaucho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salvador gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Salvador decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Gaucho darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Salvador pushes Gaucho off and gets back to his feet.

Salvador fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gaucho, pushing him back against the cage.
Salvador lands an elbow inside that Gaucho shrugs off.

It looks like Sebastian Gaucho has been cut.
Gaucho is looking to take this one to the mat.
Gaucho is working for takedown but Salvador is calmly controlling the position for now.

Gaucho drops back, looking for a kneebar! Salvador looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Salvador looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Salvador!

Gaucho has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Salvador after a bit of a struggle.

Gaucho is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Salvador is defending well.
Salvador pushes off an throws an elbow but Gaucho leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Gaucho tries to pull guard but Salvador forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Salvador creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Gaucho's defenses.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gaucho drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Salvador dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salvador drops back looking for a leg! Gaucho is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gaucho manages to kick Salvador off! Salvador jumps back into Gaucho's guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Well Salvador has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
