With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Badri Bolkvadze!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolkvadze takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
River moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

River moves into the clinch.
Bolkvadze misses with a knee strike.

I was talking to River 's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
River can't find room to land a body shot as Bolkvadze controls the action.

River rushes Bolkvadze and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bolkvadze lands a right hand that snaps the head of River backwards.
Bolkvadze tries a body shot but River blocks it.
Bolkvadze is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

River has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bolkvadze uses from the top position.
Bolkvadze wanted to stand there but River had control of the position.

River is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bolkvadze defends well.

River has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

River has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bolkvadze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
River is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bolkvadze can do to turn this around?

River working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bolkvadze doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bolkvadze manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bolkvadze has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing River to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bolkvadze is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - River pulls down on the head and he's put Bolkvadze to sleep! This one is all over!
