Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryo Okami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Baloo Bayur!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Bayur uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Okami.
Bayur wants to counter the offense by Okami and move into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bayur closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Okami to the mat! Okami manages to get full guard.
Okami working for a triangle but Bayur defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Okami is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bayur has his hands clasped together but Okami extends and breaks Bayur's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Okami.
