Matsuda comes to the cage accompanied by Gojira - Another World. The crowd seem to be enjoying Obaminator's choice of entrance music: Gil Scott-Herron - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tanaka Matsuda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barack Obaminator!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuda looks to land a right hand but Obaminator moved out of range.

Matsuda is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Obaminator's half guard.

Matsuda is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Obaminator sees it coming and defends easily.
Matsuda is nestled in close to Obaminator, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Obaminator wants to get back to full guard.
Matsuda takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Matsuda is trying to work for a kimura but Obaminator is defending well.
Matsuda prevents Obaminator from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matsuda not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Obaminator is defending against the submission attempts here by Matsuda.
Matsuda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Obaminator keeps working.

Matsuda seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Obaminator has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matsuda is working away from the top position though.
Obaminator won't allow Matsuda to pass to mount.

Obaminator tries to roll over but Matsuda keeps him under control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Obaminator misses with an uppercut

and Matsuda counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Matsuda wants to work for an arm triangle but Obaminator is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Obaminator is positioning himself well to prevent Matsuda advancing to mount.

Matsuda throws a strike but Obaminator manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Matsuda tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
