Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buck Lidell (ranked 4216 p4p, 4215 weight class) and Anthony Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buck Lidell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Smith! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lidell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Lidell stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Lidell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Smith takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Smith fails with the takedown letting Lidell counter with a right hand. Smith loads up on a big right hand but Lidell slips the punch. Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lidell sprawls well. Lidell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Lidell was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Buck Lidell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Smith. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lidell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lidell cracks Smith with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Lidell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head. Lidell scores with a shot to the body.
Lidell connects with a right hand. Smith shakes it off. Lidell throws a right and a left that both miss. Lidell is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Smith takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Lidell scores with a hook. Lidell digs a good body shot into Smith's ribs. Smith tries to clinch but Lidell moves out of range. Smith with a poor takedown and Lidell counters with a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lidell stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A low kick from Smith misses and Lidell counters with a nice uppercut.

Lidell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Smith has a closed guard, preventing Lidell from standing up. Smith throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lidell defends well. Lidell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Smith on the wrong end of a nice jab. Smith is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lidell. Smith fails with a takedown attempt. Smith throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lidell on the side of the head. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lidell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Smith looks winded! Smith is looking to clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Buck Lidell dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Lidell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lidell as he jumps to the side. The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lidell scores with a one two! Smith had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Anthony Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lidell lands with an overhand left. Lidell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lidell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lidell ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lidell scores with a decent looking hook. Lidell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lidell wants it to stay on the feet. Buck Lidell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Smith. Smith closes the distance looking to clinch and Lidell counters with a nice uppercut.

Smith gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lidell. Lidell punishes Smith's body with a nice straight punch. Lidell catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lidell swivels and escapes. Smith is breathing heavily. Lidell digs a good hook to Smith's body.
Jab from Lidell. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Smith misses with the combination.
Buck Lidell is winning the standup battle so far. Lidell connects with a nice looking jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A jab lands there for Lidell. Lidell with a nice cross. Lidell scores with a hook to the body. Smith takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Smith throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lidell forces Smith back against the cage and clinches. Smith fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lidell can't break the clinch.
Smith has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Lidell is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lidell down to the mat. Lidell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lidell lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Lidell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lidell throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it. Lidell throws a body punch but Smith moves out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lidell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Lidell lands a nice hook to Smith's body. Smith takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Smith tries for a takedown but Lidell circles away easily and Lidell counters with a stiff right hand. Smith wants to clinch but Lidell slips to the side enabling Lidell to counter with a crisp jab. Smith falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lidell counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lidell slips a jab from Smith. Smith shoots for a takedown but Lidell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lidell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around? Smith has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lidell finds it's way round the side to connect with Smith's head. Lidell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Lidell gets tackled into the cage by Smith. Smith maintains the clinch. Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith closes the distance looking to clinch enabling Lidell to counter with a crisp jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lidell counters with a straight right hand. Lidell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Buck Lidell dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Smith walks into a jab. Lidell lands a glancing blow to the side of Smith's head. Lidell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lidell is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Smith takes a body punch but keeps moving. Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lidell swivels and escapes. Smith misses the shot to the body. Lidell keeps the fight on the outside. Smith is looking to clinch. Lidell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith tries to clinch and Lidell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice shot lands for Lidell. Smith misses with a takedown and Lidell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Buck Lidell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Smith. Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lidell jabs at Smith's body. Lidell throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Smith darts in and clinches Lidell up against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Smith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lidell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lidell lands with a left to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lidell prevents a takedown attempt there.
Smith is working for takedown but Lidell is calmly controlling the position for now. Lidell has had enough of the clinch but Smith keeps him there for the moment. Lidell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Lidell wants to get back to striking at distance but Smith won't allow it.
Smith is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lidell pulls him back up using the underhooks. Lidell is trying to break the clinch but Smith has him pressed against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lidell as Smith tries to tie him up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lidell can't break the clinch.
Lidell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lidell tries to break the clinch but Smith is controlling the position. Lidell blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A frustrated look appears on Lidell's face as he tries to break the clinch. Smith has Lidell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lidell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Lidell is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smith tries for a takedown but Lidell manages to get underhooks.
Smith keeps control of Lidell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lidell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Anthony Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Smith goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
And that's the end of the fight! Buck Lidell showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lidell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
