Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Farquharson (ranked 1984 p4p, 1709 weight class) and Javontonius Smiff (ranked 296 p4p, 253 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Malcolm Farquharson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Javontonius Smiff! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Farquharson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Smiff is trying to defend but Farquharson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Smiff blocking the ground and pound attempt from Farquharson. Farquharson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Smiff is looking to get back to full guard here but Farquharson has managed to pass to side control instead. Smiff prevents Farquharson from moving into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Farquharson throws an elbow but Smiff slips to the side and avoids it well. Farquharson lands a decent elbow from side control. A lull in the action here as Farquharson stalls from top position. Farquharson grinds an elbow into Smiff's temple. Farquharson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smiff is trying to improve his position. Smiff is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Farquharson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Farquharson thows a huge punch but Smiff dodges it nicely.
Farquharson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Smiff wants to control but Farquharson is keeping busy.
Farquharson seems to be working for a kimura but Smiff defends the submission attempt. Smiff felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Farquharson is working for a kimura but Smiff is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Farquharson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Farquharson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smiff's head. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Farquharson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Smiff is trying to get back to full guard. Farquharson is trying to control. Smiff wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Farquharson working over Smiff with some ground and pound. Smiff looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Farquharson slips a nice elbow through Smiff's hands, connecting with Smiff's forehead. Farquharson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smiff keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smiff is looking to control Farquharson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smiff avoid being mounted? Farquharson is nestled in close to Smiff, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Smiff tries to roll over but Farquharson keeps him under control. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Farquharson lands a nice short elbow.
Smiff is rocked! Farquharson lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Smiff! More strikes land and this one is all over! Farquharson jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
