Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Doofy McGriff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Grishov!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grishov tries for a takedown but McGriff sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Grishov shoots in and drives through. McGriff sprawls well.
Grishov closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGriff circles away.
McGriff tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Grishov manages to circle out of the way.
Doofy McGriff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksandr Grishov.
Grishov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McGriff swivels and escapes.
A left and a right from McGriff both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Aleksandr Grishov has been cut.
Grishov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McGriff throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Grishov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGriff stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McGriff wants it to stay on the feet.
McGriff lands with an uppercut that bounces Grishov off the cage and back into range.
McGriff lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Grishov shoots in for a double leg but McGriff sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McGriff swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Grishov looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Grishov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McGriff swivels and escapes.
McGriff is looking to counter punch.
A left lands for McGriff.
Grishov is rocked!
McGriff fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Grishov square on the jaw! Damn, Grishov is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doofy McGriff!
