Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crespo throws a big shot that misses.
Schmidt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Crespo.
Schmidt closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Crespo to the mat! Crespo manages to get full guard.
Schmidt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Schmidt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schmidt showed some decent athleticism there.
Schmidt content to control rather than advance.

Crespo pushes Schmidt off looking to stand but Schmidt dives back in and keeps control.
Schmidt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Schmidt moves nicely into side control.
Schmidt is working to tighten his grip on Crespo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Crespo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Schmidt is really squeezing tight and eventually Crespo passes out! Schmidt breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
