Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Johnson (ranked 4177 p4p, 4225 weight class) and Punch Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerry Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Punch Perry!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.
Perry avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Johnson darts in and clinches Perry up against the cage.
Perry can't get the takedown.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Perry gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Johnson manages to pull guard.
Johnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Perry wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Perry controlling him for the moment.

Perry wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perry is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perry trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Perry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perry has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A decent looking cross lands there for Johnson.
Perry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Jerry Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Punch Perry.
Perry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Perry's waist but Perry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A quick step to the side and Johnson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Perry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Perry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.

Perry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson shoots for a takedown but Perry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Johnson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Perry finds it's way round the side to connect with Johnson's head.

Johnson throws out a loose jab but Perry uses good head movement to avoid it.
Perry tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Perry, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Johnson clinches up with Perry and pushes him back against the cage.
Perry tries to land a knee to the head but Johnson blocks with his arms.

Perry wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Johnson is trying to pull guard but Perry turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Perry just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Johnson dives in and grabs Perry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A nice combination there by Perry.
Perry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson goes for a double leg but Perry avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Perry continues to drive forward.
Perry tries a quick counter leg kick but Johnson is wise to it.
Perry is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing.
Perry tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Johnson smiles and moves away.

Perry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard but Perry has passed into side control.

Perry trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom.

Perry is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Perry is landing with some decent strikes but Johnson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Perry goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Johnson is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Johnson is looking to pass into half guard but Perry pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Perry is in guard.

Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Perry won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.
Perry passes Johnson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Perry seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Punch Perry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Perry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Perry shapes to counter with a head kick.
Johnson is looking to slow Perry down with leg kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Perry doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Perry tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Perry shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.

Johnson drives through and clinches with Perry against the cage.
Johnson jumps guard but Perry stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Perry pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Perry takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Perry moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off.
Perry tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Johnson moves into the clinch successfully.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Perry is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perry as he avoids it easily.

Perry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Johnson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Johnson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Perry keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Perry drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Perry scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Johnson clinches up against the cage.

Johnson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Perry is trying to keep an underhook but Johnson manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Perry makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perry shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Perry defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Perry into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Perry wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.
Perry is trying to drag Johnson to the mat but Johnson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Perry tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Johnson avoids it.

Johnson gets control of Perry's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
