Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexei Petrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Will Wilber!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov walks into a straight right hand from Wilber.
Wilber scores with a hook to the body. Petrov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Petrov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Petrov is staying tight to Wilber's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Petrov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wilber is looking to regain half guard here but Petrov keeps moving and retains side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Wilber is trying to control Petrov's posture but Petrov avoids it.
Wilber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Petrov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Petrov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Wilber is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Petrov is staying active.

The referee asks Petrov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Petrov prefers to stall for the moment though.
Wilber tries to buck Petrov off but Petrov is having none of it.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Petrov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Wilber is looking for a sweep.
Petrov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Wilber is working to avoid the ground and pound but Petrov connects with a decent elbow.
Wilber gets back to half guard.
Petrov blocks the strikes from Wilber.

Petrov is nestled in close to Wilber, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Petrov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Petrov lands with a punch from half guard.
Wilber actively working from the bottom here.
Petrov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wilber with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Petrov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are battling for position here. Wilber manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Petrov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wilber's head.
Wilber is rocked!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wilber falls off balance throwing a combination
and Petrov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wilber won't be happy with that.
Wilber is still in real trouble! Can Petrov finish him?
Petrov in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Wilber looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Petrov turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
