Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Kosmanov (ranked 694 p4p, 684 weight class) and Norman Boma (ranked 99 p4p, 96 weight class). Boma has chosen Drowning Pool - Bodies as his entrance music. Vladimir Kosmanov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Kosmanov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Boma! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kosmanov swings and misses with a shot to the body and Boma counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Boma uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kosmanov. Vladimir Kosmanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kosmanov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Boma counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kosmanov scores with a hook to the body. Boma takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Kosmanov misses with a lunging right hand
and Boma counters with an outside leg kick.
Kosmanov lands a head shot. Kosmanov throws a jab when Boma was well out of range. Boma counters with a body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boma swings and misses with a shot to the body and Kosmanov counters with a takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kosmanov lands a few punches from side control. Kosmanov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boma keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boma is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kosmanov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kosmanov is figuring out what he wants to do next. Boma wants to get back to full guard. Boma is trying to stand back up but Kosmanov is controlling him
Kosmanov trying to control the action but Boma is working from the bottom. Boma wants to improve his position but Kosmanov is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kosmanov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Boma trying to control from the bottom.
Kosmanov is keen to just control but Boma is a slippery customer. Boma scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kosmanov manages to mount him!
Kosmanov with good strikes from the mount here! Kosmanov lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Boma is rocked! Kosmanov is in the full mount, landing strikes. Boma is still in real trouble! Can Kosmanov finish him? Kosmanov avoids the attempt from Boma to control. Kosmanov landing strikes from the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kosmanov looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Boma covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vladimir Kosmanov! A relieved looking Vladimir Kosmanov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
