The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Talbain with that takedown attempt.
Talbain takes a kick to the side of the head.
Talbain shoots for a double leg takedown but Shewmaker sprawls well. He's pushed Talbain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shewmaker is looking for a counter combo.
Shewmaker throws a sloppy head kick and Talbain moves out of range easily.

Talbain with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shewmaker to score with a decent uppercut.
Talbain dives in for a single leg takedown but Shewmaker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
