PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Strand (ranked 1225 p4p, 2184 weight class) and Chu Chu Fukyu (ranked 159 p4p, 255 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Strand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Chu Chu Fukyu!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fukyu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Strand.
Strand misses with a hook. Fukyu ducked under it nicely.
Strand throws a shot from downtown. Fukyu moves away and avoids it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Strand lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fukyu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fukyu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A punch lands to the side of Fukyu 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Strand uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Fukyu has time to react.

Strand's corner calls for a 1-2. Strand obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

We've been told by Strand's head coaches at ubergym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strand fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Fukyu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Strand misses with an uppercut. Fukyu saw that one coming.
Fukyu appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Fukyu.
Fukyu takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fukyu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Fukyu moves out of range of the strikes.

Strand lands a really nice looking cross but Fukyu seems unphased.

Strand walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Fukyu drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Strand swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Fukyu's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
