Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Francois LaFleur (ranked 1822 p4p, 1738 weight class) and Charles Barkley (ranked 200 p4p, 187 weight class). Barkley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Space Jam kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for LaFleur.
It looks like Charles Barkley has been cut.
LaFleur blocks a head kick by Barkley.

Barkley takes a swing at LaFleur's ribcage but misses.
Barkley lands a nice hook to LaFleur's body. LaFleur takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

It looked like LaFleur was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Barkley.
LaFleur looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Barkley throws a jab when LaFleur was well out of range.

LaFleur digs a good body shot into Barkley's ribs.
Barkley throws a wild body kick that LaFleur sees coming a mile off.
It looked like LaFleur wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Barkley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but LaFleur circles away quickly and effectively.
LaFleur was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barkley swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and LaFleur counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

LaFleur wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaFleur lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Barkley or not.
LaFleur throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Barkleys head.
That has opened up Charles Barkley's cut even more.

LaFleur swings wildly with an uppercut but Barkley uses good head movement to avoid it.

Barkley tries to work over LaFleur's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
LaFleur misses with a punch to the body.
LaFleur throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
LaFleur dips a shoulder and cracks Barkley with a mighty uppercut! Barkley falls back against the cage and LaFleur unloads with a barrage of strikes! Barkley is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - LaFleur screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jean Francois LaFleur!
Our winner, Jean Francois LaFleur, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
