Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hotsi Log! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacob Song! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Song gets tackled into the cage by Log. Log maintains the clinch. Song breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Log closes the distance and pushes Song back into the cage. Song breaks from the clinch.
Log fails with an attempt to clinch.
Log closes the distance and clinches. Song avoids a wild elbow strike from Log. Song is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Song manages to break the clinch.
Song misses with a straight left. Log closes the distance and clinches. Song wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Log has him pressed against the cage. Log has Song pressed against the cage, preventing Song from circling away and getting back to striking at range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Song breaks from the clinch.
Log ducks straight into an uppercut from Song and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Log manages to regain guard straight away.
Log is rocked!
It looks like Hotsi Log has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Log is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Oh Log is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Song is looking to work some ground and pound but Log has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Song postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Log is pulling down on Song's head to control his posture. Song gets to his feet and stands over Log, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Log felt that one! Song unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Log from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob Song!
