And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Trip Fontaine! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? The Flamingo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The Flamingo gets a clinch. The Flamingo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fontaine is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but The Flamingo is defending well. The Flamingo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fontaine gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Domingo The Flamingo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fontaine changes levels and goes for a takedown here. The Flamingo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fontaine wants to clinch up but The Flamingo keeps it at a distance. Fontaine tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. The Flamingo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Fontaine closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into The Flamingo's guard. Fontaine jumps back into The Flamingo's guard. Fontaine stopping the sweep attempt from The Flamingo. Fontaine thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The Flamingo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fontaine puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The Flamingo tries to get to full guard but Fontaine has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fontaine wants to control but The Flamingo is keeping him busy. The Flamingo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fontaine is keen to just control but The Flamingo is a slippery customer. Fontaine is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and The Flamingo defends it well. The Flamingo trying to hold on to Fontaine's head to control him but Fontaine postures up.
The Flamingo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fontaine on the ground.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Fontaine wants to control the pace but The Flamingo is squirming around nicely. The Flamingo is trying to escape the mount but Fontaine keeps good control and instead manages to take The Flamingo's back.

The Flamingo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Fontaine has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! The Flamingo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Fontaine doesn't care though - he's delighted!
