Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenichi Shirahama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Evans is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Shirahama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck Evans! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Evans. Evans looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Shirahama throws a sloppy head kick and Evans moves out of range easily. Evans avoids the head kick by Shirahama.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Evans crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shirahama - the referee stops the clock and Evans gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shirahama. Evans manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Evans has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Evans lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Shirahama swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.
Evans looks for a takedown but Shirahama sprawls well. Shirahama connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shirahama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Evans was well out of range. Poor timing from Shirahama. Shirahama looks to throw the jab but Evans is out of range. Evans closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shirahama circles away. Kenichi Shirahama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Evans.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shirahama swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Evans counters with a nice double leg into guard. Evans trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Evans postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shirahama is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Evans, into his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evans keeping full guard, as Shirahama tries to pass. Shirahama decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Evans, up you get! Shirahama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Evans blocks a jab. Shirahama misses with a looping left.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shirahama missing with a left hand there. Evans was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shirahama is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Shirahama's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Evans drives through with a takedown into guard. Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Shirahama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Evans is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Evans distracts Shirahama with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Evans won't allow Shirahama to sweep him here. Shirahama is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Evans is aware though and is defending well. Shirahama is breathing heavily. Shirahama keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully. Evans might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shirahama kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Evans wants to pass the guard but Shirahama is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Shirahama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Evans drops back looking for a leg! Shirahama is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shirahama manages to kick Evans off! Evans jumps back into Shirahama's guard. Shirahama bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evans's guard. Shirahama stands up from Evans's guard - Shirahama perhaps looking for a knockout. Shirahama throws a chopping leg kick but Evans manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Evans avoids the head kick by Shirahama.
Evans takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Shirahama scores with the left hand. Evans knows he should have avoided that one. Evans takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shirahama defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Evans. Kenichi Shirahama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Evans wants to clinch. Evans takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Evans is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shirahama misses with a series of wild punches.
Shirahama throws a body punch but Evans moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenichi Shirahama dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Evans misses with a head kick.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but Shirahama shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Shirahama lands a big head kick that sends Evans to the canvas! Shirahama follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenichi Shirahama!
