PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Common Carp (ranked 3887 p4p, 5454 weight class) and Aryan Deshpande (ranked 394 p4p, 496 weight class). Deshpande has chosen Ready to Kill as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Common Carp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aryan Deshpande!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deshpande slips a straight right by Carp.
Aryan Deshpande seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carp throws a lazy right hand but Deshpande sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Deshpande looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Deshpande comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Carp throws a hook but Deshpande blocks it.
Good shot there by Deshpande.
Deshpande scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Carp misses with a straight right.
Carp lands a nice shot that snaps Deshpande's head back.
Deshpande scores with a nice head shot.
Deshpande scores with a nice head shot.
Deshpande misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deshpande tries to score with a low kick but Carp moves his leg out of the way.
Carp wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Carp throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Deshpande uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carp.
Carp bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Deshpande's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Deshpande takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Good standup being displayed there by Deshpande as he connects with a hook.
Deshpande swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carp counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Deshpande swings for the body but Carp moves out of range.
Carp lands with an overhand left.
Deshpande takes one on the button.
A big left from Carp misses.
Deshpande misses with a left hand
and Carp counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Deshpande misses with a jab to the body
and Carp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Deshpande is rocked!
Carp lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Deshpande up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Carp from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Deshpande's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Common Carp!
During a confident post fight interview, Common Carp thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
