Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfonso Melendez!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edwards tries to avoid it but Melendez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edwards to the ground. Edwards escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Melendez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Melendez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Edwards controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edwards seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Melendez for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Melendez moves in looking to clinch but Edwards pushes him off.
Edwards misses with a kick to the body.
Melendez tries to counter with a clinch but Edwards shakes him off and moves away.
Edwards drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Edwards is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Melendez is trying to escape and Edwards transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Melendez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Edwards! Very nice indeed!
