Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dante Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sae Kin Kwon! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Kin Kwon with that takedown attempt. Cross keeps the fight on the outside. Kin Kwon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cross tries to avoid it but Kin Kwon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cross to the ground. Cross escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cross waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Kin Kwon. Cross lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Sae Kin Kwon has been cut. Cross slaps away a takedown attempt from Kin Kwon, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dante Cross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sae Kin Kwon. Cross tries a head kick but it misses.
Cross throws a right hand that Kin Kwon ducks under and follows up with a left that Kin Kwon also avoids with ease. Kin Kwon dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cross misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kin Kwon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice combo by Kin Kwon! Oh, that's hurt him - Cross falls to the canvas and Kin Kwon follows him into side control.
It looks like Dante Cross has been cut. Cross is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Cross pushes Kin Kwon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kin Kwon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The strikes coming from Kin Kwon are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Kin Kwon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kin Kwon is looking to take a break and control but Cross is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kin Kwon decides to stand back up. Kin Kwon steps back and let's Cross get back to his feet. Kin Kwon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cross pinned against the cage. Cross gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dante Cross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kin Kwon tries to close the distance and clinch but Cross swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kin Kwon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kin Kwon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kin Kwon thowing shots but they're missing. Kin Kwon controlling from mount. Kin Kwon lands a nice shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross is squirming around, avoiding Kin Kwon's attempts to control the action. Kin Kwon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cross is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Kin Kwon trying to control but Cross is having none of it. Cross wants to get back to his feet.
Kin Kwon looking to ground and pound but Cross is blocking nicely. Kin Kwon looking to control but Cross is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kin Kwon lands with some strikes. Kin Kwon content just to control the position here. Cross is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Cross avoids a series of strikes thrown by Kin Kwon.
Kin Kwon controlling the position easily from mount. Cross tries to buck Kin Kwon off but he can't manage it. Cross knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kin Kwon on the ground. Kin Kwon is landing with some decent strikes but Cross is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kin Kwon is going olschool here, as he tries to force Cross to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cross shrugs it off. Cross squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kin Kwon looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Kin Kwon tries to control but Cross wriggling away. Kin Kwon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Cross is trying to stand. Kin Kwon controlling the pace for now. Cross is trying to stand but he's just given Kin Kwon his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kin Kwon missing with punches from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sae Kin Kwon dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kin Kwon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cross as he jumps to the side. Kin Kwon thumps Cross with a low kick. Kin Kwon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dante Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kin Kwon tries to clinch up but Cross circles away and keeps his distance. Kin Kwon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kin Kwon has a takedown stuffed. Dante Cross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sae Kin Kwon. Cross avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kin Kwon throws a sloppy head kick and Cross counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cross throws a head kick but Kin Kwon moves out of range.
Kin Kwon looks to clinch and Kin Kwon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kin Kwon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cross swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cross looks to throw the jab but Kin Kwon is out of range. Kin Kwon jabs Cross right on the nose. Cross blinks but takes it well. A telegraphed right hand from Cross misses the target. Cross is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kin Kwon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Cross pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kin Kwon tries to clinch but Cross moves away and Cross counters with a straight right hand. Kin Kwon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cross paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kin Kwon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cross is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cross throws a looping overhand right but Kin Kwon ducks down to avoid it. Kin Kwon tries to clinch up and Cross counters with a nice uppercut. A right-left combo lands from Kin Kwon. Kin Kwon wants to clinch. A head kick by Cross misses and Kin Kwon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kin Kwon. Kin Kwon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kin Kwon wants to control from the top but Cross keeps moving. Kin Kwon won't allow Cross to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kin Kwon gets to his feet. Cross looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Kin Kwon has a takedown stuffed. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kin Kwon is defended easily by Cross. Cross looks to land a right hand but Kin Kwon moved out of range. Cross takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dante Cross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kin Kwon misses with a takedown attempt - Cross sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kin Kwon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cross counters with a big head kick but Kin Kwon shrugs it off. Kin Kwon misses with a takedown and Cross cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kin Kwon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cross counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cross misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kin Kwon gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kin Kwon wants a takedown.
Cross tries for a takedown. No joy.
A frustrated look appears on Kin Kwon's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cross lands an elbow inside that Kin Kwon shrugs off. Kin Kwon is trying to break the clinch but Cross has him pressed against the cage. Kin Kwon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cross walks away with a smile on his face. Kin Kwon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cross throws out a loose jab but Kin Kwon uses good head movement to avoid it. Kin Kwon tries to clinch and Cross counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sae Kin Kwon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. That's one minute gone in the round. Cross connects with a high kick. Cross thows a left - swing and a miss! Cross is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Kin Kwon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kin Kwon is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kin Kwon fails with the takedown and Kin Kwon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cross scores with the left hand. Kin Kwon knows he should have avoided that one. Kin Kwon looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Cross is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Kin Kwon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cross as Kin Kwon tries to tie him up. Cross breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kin Kwon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cross's waist but Cross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kin Kwon off to one side. Left hook, right uppercut from Cross. Kin Kwon fails to land the takedown. Cross throws a big shot that misses. Kin Kwon doesn't manage to clinch there - Cross circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kin Kwon blocks a head kick by Cross.
Kin Kwon fails to land the takedown. Cross swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kin Kwon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kin Kwon. Kin Kwon is pressed up against the cage. Cross has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kin Kwon down to the mat. Kin Kwon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kin Kwon throws a sloppy head kick and Cross counters with a flying knee. Nice. Cross fails to land with a series of punches.
Kin Kwon shoots for a double leg takedown but Cross sprawls well. He's pushed Kin Kwon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cross pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kin Kwon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cross sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kin Kwon somewhat. Kin Kwon takes one on the button. Kin Kwon connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kin Kwon throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cross getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Kin Kwon with a lazy takedown attempt and Cross connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kin Kwon misses with a takedown letting Cross counter with a right hand. Kin Kwon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Cross circles away from the clinch attempt letting Cross counter with a right hand. Kin Kwon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cross's waist but Cross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kin Kwon off to one side. Dante Cross is winning the standup battle so far. Kin Kwon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Dante Cross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sae Kin Kwon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kin Kwon avoids the head kick by Cross.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dante Cross. I think Kin Kwon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
