Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Triston Sanford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Saul Jackson! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanford misses with a takedown and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sanford misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sanford fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Triston Sanford. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanford gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jackson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Triston Sanford has been cut. We've been informed that Jackson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Sanford misses with a takedown attempt and Jackson counters with a nice body shot. Sanford shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanford doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sanford walks into a stiff left hand from Jackson. Sanford is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab, jab by Jackson - just one landing. Jackson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Jackson with a nice cross. Jackson throws a big shot that misses. Jackson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Sanford has his takedown stuffed enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab. Sanford takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jackson scores with a nice strike. Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sanford closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Sanford fails with the takedown. Jackson lunges at Sanford with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sanford's hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson throws the left hand but Sanford avoids the punch easily. Jackson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sanford had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooh!!! Jackson has knocked Sanford down with a huge combo! Jackson steps away and waves a wobbly Sanford back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Sanford is rocked! Jackson tests Sanford's chin there with a solid looking shot. Oh Sanford is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Sanford throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanford off to one side. Sanford seems to have got his legs back now. Nice straight punches there by Jackson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jackson. Sanford is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jackson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sanford is breathing heavily. Sanford shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sanford tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard. Sanford stops Jackson from standing up. Sanford passes into half guard. Sanford controlling the action here. Sanford has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Sanford landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sanford stalling. Sanford is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanford passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jackson! Sanford takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jackson is bucking up trying to escape but Sanford cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jackson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Sanford takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sanford has hold of Jackson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jackson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Saul Jackson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Triston Sanford's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Sanford shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jackson cracks Sanford with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Sanford shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense. Jackson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Sanford is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson. Sanford looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson wants to stand and escape but Sanford is having none of it.

Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Sanford is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sanford slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jackson wants to stand up but Sanford is controlling him. Sanford trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sanford drives through with a takedown into guard. Sanford sitting in guard here, content to control. Jackson wants to stand up but Sanford is controlling him. Sanford is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Sanford slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sanford happy to just control the position for now. Jackson is pushing Sanford's head away, looking to escape. Sanford manages to hold on to the position though. Sanford controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sanford is putting a hurting on Jackson here, landing some big shots from side control. Sanford is staying tight to Jackson's torso, preventing him from escaping. Sanford in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Jackson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sanford has just dragged him back down to the mat. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson is trying to escape the position but Sanford is controlling the position. Triston Sanford overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sanford is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sanford closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Sanford getting side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Triston Sanford will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Triston Sanford's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Sanford's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sanford scrambles back to his feet. Saul Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jackson with a hook. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanford is defended easily by Jackson. Sanford shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanford gets slowly back to his feet. Sanford bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sanford is looking for a counter combo. Jackson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sanford's hands. Sanford moves away from the strike by Jackson. Donk. Jackson catches Sanford right on the button with a cross. Jackson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Jackson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Sanford closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jackson to the mat! Jackson manages to get full guard. Sanford controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanford looking to pass the guard. Sanford slips nicely into half guard. Sanford trying to control the pace. Sanford wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working. Sanford stops Jackson from getting back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Saul Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
