Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kane Williams (ranked 3144 p4p, 3815 weight class) and Shaun Murphy (ranked 332 p4p, 389 weight class). Williams's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bad to the Bone. Kane Williams could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shaun Murphy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kane Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shaun Murphy! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams shoots in but no luck this time. Murphy misses with a wild combination.
Williams changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Murphy moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Williams manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Murphy on his heels. He'll look to pass Murphy's guard now, I'm sure. Williams throws a strike but Murphy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Murphy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Murphy trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Murphy wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Williams managing to control the position. Williams seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Williams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Murphy's guard. Williams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Murphy's head. Murphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Williams throws a strike but Murphy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Murphy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Murphy manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Williams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Williams working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Murphy keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Williams trying to control but Murphy is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Williams darts in looking for a takedown but Murphy gets double underhooks and turns Williams into the ropes. Williams is looking for a takedown. Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Murphy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Williams drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Murphy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Williams has Murphy in his guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murphy can do anything to dispel that myth. Williams scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Williams could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Murphy pulls Williams in close to prevent any damage. Williams lands a couple of decent looking shots. Murphy keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. Murphy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Murphy is rocked! Williams gets to his feet and stands over Murphy, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Murphy felt that one! Williams unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Murphy from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kane Williams! Kane Williams decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
