Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Hall (ranked 409 p4p, 693 weight class) and Mertis Falandas (ranked 20 p4p, 30 weight class). Hall comes to the cage accompanied by Andy Shauf: The Magician. Falandas has chosen Feed the Machine as his entrance music. Mertis Falandas has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Robbie Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mertis Falandas! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Falandas scores with a nice strike. Falandas tries to land a leg kick but Hall saw it coming and moves away.
Hall wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Falandas rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hall counters by moving into the clinch. Hall is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Falandas to keep the fight standing. Falandas misses with a hook to the ribs.

Hall tries to pull guard but Falandas forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Hall definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbie Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hall successfully pulls guard.
Hall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Falandas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Falandas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Falandas passes Hall's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Falandas is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hall is looking to get to half guard. Hall has left one of his arms exposed and Falandas doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hall screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mertis Falandas! A relieved looking Mertis Falandas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
