Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Uche (ranked 4635 p4p, 4258 weight class) and Frank Ganu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Uche!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Ganu!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uche darts in looking for a takedown but Ganu gets double underhooks and turns Uche into the cage.
As Uche backs off Ganu throws a huge counter combo but Uche manages to avoid it all.
Ganu wants to break the clinch but can't.
A frustrated look appears on Ganu's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ganu wants to get back to striking at distance but Uche won't allow it.
Ganu is trying to force a seperation but Uche has the dominant position.

Ganu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ganu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Uche.
Uche definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ganu has Uche up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uche has Ganu pressed against the cage, preventing Ganu from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Uche is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ganu pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Uche. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ganu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ganu rushes Uche and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Uche keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ganu's efforts to push away.

Ganu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Uche fails with an attempt to clinch.
Frank Ganu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Uche. Ganu does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Ganu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ganu finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Uche drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Uche shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ganu defends it nicely.

Uche scores with a couple of short elbows.
Uche has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ganu on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Uche is trying to get an arm triangle but Ganu is defending well.

Ganu is looking to reverse the position.
Ganu is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
You can see the frustration on Ganu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ganu is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Uche is controlling him well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Frank Ganu will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Horrible takedown attempt by Uche or perhaps it was just good defense by Ganu, which made it look bad.
Uche tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ganu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Uche is looking to clinch.
Ganu unleashes a big counter combination but Uche bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
We've been informed that Ganu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Uche swings for the body but Ganu moves out of range.
Ganu throws out a counter right but Uche avoids it with no problem.
Ganu lands a jab to the head.
Ganu throws a combination. Uche tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ganu stuffs the takedown.
Ganu looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ganu lands with an uppercut that bounces Uche off the cage and back into range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ganu tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Uche is able to avoid easily.
Ganu misses with a two punch combination.
Uche seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ganu feints a jab promting Uche to slip. Ganu then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Uche slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Uche is rocked!

and Ganu counters with a huge left! Uche is in big trouble! He's backing up but Ganu isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Uche from any more damage. A dominating finish by Ganu!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Ganu!
