Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Willie Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Burt Craig!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Li lands the left hand.

It looks like Burt Craig has been cut.
Craig takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Craig with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Li to score with a decent uppercut.
Li connects with a nice looking jab.

Craig closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Craig lands in his opponent's guard.

Craig postures up in Li's guard and throws a big left but Li blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Craig is controlling him.
Li knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Craig on the ground.
Craig advances to half guard.
Li is trying to stand up here but Craig is controlling him well.
Craig wants to take a breather but Li is having none of it.
Craig passes to side control.
Li is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Craig has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Li has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Craig is looking to take a break and control but Li is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Craig working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Craig scores with a couple of short elbows.
Craig creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Li sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Craig works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Craig cracks Li with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Craig wants to lay and pray for a moment but Li keeps working.
Li is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Li on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Li tries to get out of the position.
Craig is looking to take a break and control but Li is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Li takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Li on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Li avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Craig.
Craig prevents Li from escaping the position.
Craig scoring with punches and elbows.
Craig wants to control but Li is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Li takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Check out the look on Craig's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Burt Craig dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Burt Craig's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Li connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Li cracks Craig with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Li connects with a jab.
Li dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Li cracks Craig with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Li scores with a decent looking hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Li connects with a good right hand that stumbles Craig. Craig circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That has opened up Burt Craig's cut even more.

Craig dives in and scores a takedown into Li's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Craig stands and throws Li's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Craig is staying tight to Li's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Craig has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Li dodges the ground and pound from Craig.
Li pushes Craig away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Craig gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Craig lands a decent elbow from side control.

Craig looks up at the clock and then as Li takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Craig smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Craig landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Craig creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Craig is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Li knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Li is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Craig lands a nice forearm strike.

Craig is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Li has escaped the position, nice work there.
Craig controlling from side mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Li is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Craig has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Craig is working to tighten his grip on Li's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Li has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Craig is really squeezing tight and eventually Li passes out! Craig breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Burt Craig!
Post fight, Burt Craig stared into the camera and said 'Yeehaw Baby.'.
