These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiminy Cricket!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Stevensons!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cricket slips under a jab.
Stevensons steps into range and cracks Cricket with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Cricket flops backwards and Stevensons dives into his guard looking to finish!


It looks like Jiminy Cricket has been cut.
Cricket wants to get back to his feet but Stevensons is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Stevensons wants to stand but Cricket is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cricket knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stevensons on the ground.

Cricket is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Cricket breaks the clinch.
Stevensons tries to bum rush Cricket with a series of wild strikes but Cricket uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cricket connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Stevensons loads up on a big right hand but Cricket slips the punch.
Stevensons lands a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stevensons moves out of range of the body kick from Cricket.
Stevensons throws out a powerful jab.
Stevensons takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Jimmy Stevensons has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stevensons throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cricket pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stevensons throws a series of punches but Cricket avoids them all with ease.
Stevensons looks gassed!
Cricket connects with a high kick.
Cricket looks to score with a jab to the body but Stevensons is just out of range.
Stevensons connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Stevensons takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Cricket is rocked!
Cricket pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Good leg kick by Cricket there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Cricket throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stevensons.
A jab from Stevensons does it's job there.
A combination from Cricket does no damage.
Cricket throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cricket is looking to chop away at Stevensons's legs.
Stevensons connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Stevensons! Cricket is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
