PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Owen Flannigan (ranked 4208 p4p, 4234 weight class) and Bahlar Dohaert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dohaert misses with a takedown

and Flannigan counters with a single leg into guard. Dohaert didn't expect that.

Flannigan tries to roll over but Dohaert keeps him under control.

Flannigan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fighters circling - Flannigan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Flannigan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Flannigan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Flannigan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dohaert on the ground.

Flannigan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Flannigan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Flannigan shoots for a takedown but Dohaert saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dohaert shoots in and drives through. Flannigan sprawls well.
Flannigan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Bahlar Dohaert showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Flannigan is really struggling to control Dohaert but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Flannigan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Flannigan lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dohaert tries to clinch up but Flannigan circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dohaert sneaks out the side door and pushes Flannigan away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Bahlar Dohaert comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dohaert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Bahlar Dohaert was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
