Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Tepes lV (ranked 465 p4p, 1601 weight class) and Armad Bates (ranked 65 p4p, 212 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Armad Bates was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Tepes lV!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 4, fighting out of Montreal, Armad Bates!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Bates fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tepes lV avoids it really well and circles away.
Tepes lV throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bates ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The crowd cheers as Tepes lV lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bates doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Armad Bates has been cut.
Bates has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Tepes lV fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bates manages to avoid it.
Tepes lV lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Bates is rocked!
Bates throws a hook but Tepes lV avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bates checks a leg kick.
A countering left hand to the body from Bates misses.
Bates has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tepes lV.
A nice leg kick from Tepes lV, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tepes lV misses with a right hand
and Bates counters with a nice uppercut.
Tepes lV throws a big shot that misses.
Bates misses with an uppercut. Tepes lV saw that one coming.

Bates closes the distance and clinches.

Tepes lV's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bates tries to clinch up.
Tepes lV slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tepes lV circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tepes lV throws a right hand that misses
and Bates counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tepes lV looks to throw a body kick
and Bates counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A slapping leg kick lands for Tepes lV.

Bates is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tepes lV sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tepes lV swings for the body but Bates moves out of range.
Tepes lV misses with a body shot.
Tepes lV slips under a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tepes lV tries to land a body kick
enabling Bates to counter with a crisp jab.
Tepes lV misses with a looping right.
Tepes lV tries to land a front kick but Bates steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Tepes lV misses with a shot to the body
and Bates connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bates missing with a left hand there. Tepes lV was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bates wants to clinch
and Tepes lV counters with a straight right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tepes lV gets in close and tags Bates with a short punch that almost sends Bates to the mat! Oh Bates is in big trouble! He turns his back on Tepes lV, trying to create some distance but Tepes lV rushes him, striking wildly and Bates goes down! The referee tackles Tepes lV into the cage to end the fight! Tepes lV is one violent man!

A relieved looking Vlad Tepes lV thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
