The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Miyao takes the fight into the clinch.

Kuningas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miyao has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kuningas has managed to get both his arms back between Miyao's legs - danger averted.

The referee asks Kuningas politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kuningas prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miyao tries to buck Kuningas off but Kuningas is having none of it.

Kuningas goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Miyao has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kuningas but great work by Miyao.

Kuningas has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Miyao has one arm under Kuningas 's neck. Kuningas is controlling the other arm well. He's just looking to survive right now. Miyao manages to get his arm free though and Kuningas is in a world of trouble! Miyao sinks in the hooks and squeezes! Kuningas turns purple and then goes limp. The referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paulo Miyao!
A relieved looking Paulo Miyao thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
