Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Hawk (ranked 1449 p4p, 1345 weight class) and Bender Mein Armbach (ranked 196 p4p, 178 weight class). Mein Armbach has chosen Enter Sandman, Metallica as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bender Mein Armbach!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk throws out a loose jab but Mein Armbach uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hawk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mein Armbach was well out of range. Poor timing from Hawk.
Mein Armbach takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mein Armbach avoids the body shot from Hawk.
And Mein Armbach tries to counter it with a takedown but Hawk pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Hawk throws a right hand that misses
and Mein Armbach cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A head kick misses from Hawk.
Hawk fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Mein Armbach.
Mein Armbach ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hawk has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Mein Armbach counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mein Armbach.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mein Armbach advances position into side control!

Mein Armbach is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hawk has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hawk is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mein Armbach asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Mein Armbach wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawk, who protects the arm well.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mein Armbach looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Mein Armbach is trying to get an arm triangle but Hawk is defending well.
Hawk is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mein Armbach has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hawk trying to control but Mein Armbach flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Mein Armbach has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hawk has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Hawk is trying to get back to his feet but Mein Armbach has full control of the position and if anything, Hawk has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Mein Armbach is throwing shots to the body but Hawk manages to wriggle free. Mein Armbach pounces on him again and ends up in Hawk's guard.
Mein Armbach works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Mein Armbach tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hawk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mein Armbach wants to control but Hawk is keeping him busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mein Armbach is trying to work for a kimura but Hawk is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bender Mein Armbach dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hawk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mein Armbach avoids the head kick by Hawk.

Hawk takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Hawk appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Hawk throws a nice looking combination but Mein Armbach bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hawk takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mein Armbach connects with a body shot.

Mein Armbach is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mein Armbach thows a huge punch but Hawk dodges it nicely.

Mein Armbach is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hawk defends it well.
Mein Armbach wants to control but Hawk is keeping him busy.
Mein Armbach throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Mein Armbach is working for a kimura but Hawk is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mein Armbach thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hawk's head.

Mein Armbach is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hawk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mein Armbach.
Hawk is trying to escape back to his feet but Mein Armbach uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Mein Armbach tries to advance to mount but can't.
Mein Armbach is still trying to improve position.
Hawk is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mein Armbach asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ethan Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hawk tries to work over Mein Armbach's front leg with a kick but Mein Armbach checks it.
Ethan Hawk is winning the standup battle so far.
Hawk looks to throw a body kick

and Mein Armbach counters with a single leg into guard. Hawk didn't expect that.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mein Armbach accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hawk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mein Armbach is controlling him.

Bender Mein Armbach showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Hawk attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Hawk throws a right hand that Mein Armbach ducks under and follows up with a left that Mein Armbach also avoids with ease.

enabling Mein Armbach to counter with a crisp jab.
Mein Armbach lands with a straight right. Hawk didn't see that one coming.

and Mein Armbach counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hawk!

Mein Armbach has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hawk is not content to let Mein Armbach control the position.
The ground and pound from Mein Armbach seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Ethan Hawk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bender Mein Armbach is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mein Armbach goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hawk rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mein Armbach's guard! Nice work there by Hawk!
Mein Armbach trying to keep a closed guard but Hawk is proving a slippery customer.

Mein Armbach working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hawk wants to stand and escape but instead Mein Armbach has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hawk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mein Armbach is controlling him.

Ethan Hawk showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mein Armbach has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
