Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hayden Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Solomon Romero!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega works over Romero's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Solomon Romero has been cut.
Romero has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Sloppy strikes from Romero. Those never looked like landing.
Vega has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cherokees Island Elite Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Romero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vega as he jumps to the side.
Romero slips a jab and a cross from Vega.
Vega lands a left and a right that send Romero crashing to the mat, dazed. Vega thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Romero is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Romero avoids a punch combination nicely.
Romero is still on wobbly legs! Can Vega finish him?
Vega lands a nice shot to the body.
Vega moves into range and clinches up with Romero.
Vega pushes Romero back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Vega breaks from the clinch.
Romero gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Vega counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Romero to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Vega!
