Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 23866 p4p, 23714 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tapad Amiga could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rico Salvacion's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 65 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 45 - 54 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Salvacion shoots in looking for a takedown but Amiga manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salvacion's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amiga is defended easily by Salvacion.
Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Amiga shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Salvacion as he jumps to the side.
Salvacion changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Salvacion bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Salvacion closes the distance and clinches up with Amiga, looking for a takedown. Salvacion pushes Amiga against the cage but Amiga circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Salvacion stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Salvacion wants it to stay on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Amiga.

Amiga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Salvacion's guard.

Salvacion wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Amiga looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Salvacion is fending him off so far but Amiga persists. Nope, Salvacion circles away and we're back to standing.
Salvacion shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Amiga as he avoids it easily.
Amiga appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Amiga goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward.
Salvacion prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Salvacion has Amiga pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Salvacion pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Amiga tumbling to the mat - Salvacion dives into Amiga's guard.

Amiga is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Salvacion working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Salvacion looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Amiga doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Salvacion darts in looking for a takedown but Amiga gets double underhooks and turns Salvacion into the cage.

Salvacion shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Amiga napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Amiga wants to control but Salvacion postures up.

Amiga is trying to escape the position but Salvacion is controlling the position.
Let's hope that Salvacion has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Salvacion has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Salvacion is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Amiga's shoulder. That is not cool.
Salvacion trying to control the action but Amiga is working from the bottom.
Amiga isn't going anywhere.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rico Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Amiga shoots for a double leg takedown but Salvacion sprawls well. He's pushed Amiga's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Salvacion is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Amiga with a body shot.

Amiga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Salvacion's guard.
Salvacion is pulling down on Amiga's head to control his posture.

Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Salvacion fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Amiga avoids it really well and circles away.

Salvacion slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Salvacion is continuing to stall.
Salvacion wants to pass the guard but Amiga is keeping the position.
Tapad Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rico Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Rico Salvacion.
Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
