The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slice swivels and escapes.
Despite the aggression on Slice's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kidd shoots and misses
and Slice counters with a nice right hand that sends Kidd toppling to the canvas! Kidd scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Slice finish him?!
It looks like Jesse Kidd has been cut.
Slice clinches up against the cage.
Kidd can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slice stops a takedown attempt from Kidd.
Slice lands a hook to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kidd is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Slice gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
