Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Kerry (ranked 5245 p4p, 4049 weight class) and Trevin Prince (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Kerry has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Kerry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trevin Prince!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prince stuffs the takedown attempt from Kerry. Kerry gets slowly back to his feet.
Trevin Prince seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Prince fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kerry to the ground. Prince is now in Kerry's guard.

Prince is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kerry is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kerry has escaped and now he's on top!

Prince lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Prince stands and throws Kerry's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Prince wants to control but Kerry is keeping him busy.

Prince decides to stand back up. Prince steps back and let's Kerry get back to his feet.

Kerry fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Prince closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kerry did well to prevent Prince getting side control.
Kerry is looking to improve his position.
Kerry is pressing down on Prince's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Prince looking to sit in guard and control but Kerry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kerry trying to control but Prince is working from the bottom.
Prince tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kerry wants to control from the top but Prince keeps moving.
Kerry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Prince is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kerry passes Prince's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Prince trying to control but Kerry postures up.
Prince is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Prince can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kerry controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Prince bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kerry's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Prince looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kerry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Prince is in close to Kerry's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Prince trying to control the position from guard on top but Kerry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kerry wants to sweep but no luck.
Prince pushing down on Kerry's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Kerry is breathing heavily.
Prince works his way into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Prince tries for a kimura but Kerry is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Prince decides to stand back up. Prince steps back and let's Kerry get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kerry shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kerry is trying to control the action in half guard but Prince is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Prince has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Prince has his hands on Kerry's head, controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Prince is pulling down on Kerry's head. It's preventing any offense from Kerry, at least for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Kerry bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kerry scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Prince to see if he's OK.
Prince is not content to let Kerry control the position.

Kerry tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Prince is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Prince tries to buck Kerry off but Kerry is having none of it.

Prince is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Prince is staying active underneath Kerry, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kerry landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Kerry is fighting to break Prince's control of his arms but Prince is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kerry postures up in Prince's guard and throws a big left but Prince blocks it.
Kerry trying to control but Prince is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Prince gets a double leg takedown into Kerry's guard.
Kerry controlling Prince's posture.
Kerry is trying to keep Prince in close.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Prince with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Prince lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Prince seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Thomas Kerry will probably get the nod.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Prince pulls guard successfully.
Prince is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kerry dives into side control.
Prince gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kerry sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Prince defending well though.
Kerry throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kerry passes into side control, despite Prince's attempt to control the position.

Kerry is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Prince is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Prince is not content to let Kerry control the position.
Kerry sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Prince is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Prince regains half guard.
Kerry thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kerry trying to control the pace.
Kerry throwing shots but Prince is blocking nicely.
Prince throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Kerry manages to pass to side control.
Prince is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kerry's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Prince moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kerry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Prince is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kerry trying to control but Prince is working from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Prince leaves Kerry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Kerry. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Prince has taken the fight to the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kerry works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

I would just about give that final round to Trevin Prince.
Well Prince has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
