PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mywoo Wishay (ranked 4726 p4p, 3125 weight class) and Zola Junior (ranked 481 p4p, 0 weight class). Wishay comes to the cage accompanied by Cantina. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mywoo Wishay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zola Junior!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wishay tries to avoid it but Junior manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wishay to the ground. Wishay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wishay walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Mywoo Wishay has been cut.

Junior takes the fight into the clinch.
Junior lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Junior dives in and grabs Wishay's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wishay pushes down on Junior's head and hops out.
Mywoo Wishay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wishay tries to bum rush Junior with a series of wild strikes but Junior uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Junior tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wishay defends well and Junior ends up having to push Wishay into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Mywoo Wishay's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Junior breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wishay throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Junior holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Junior lands a shoulder strike.

Junior pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Junior looks to land a combination. Wishay sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Junior shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wishay sprawls well. Wishay wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Junior gets slowly back to his feet.
Junior tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wishay swivels and escapes.
Junior will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Junior.

Junior takes the fight into the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Zola Junior dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mywoo Wishay's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Junior shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wishay sprawls well. Wishay wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Junior gets slowly back to his feet.
Mywoo Wishay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Junior.

A slow jab from Wishay misses its intended target.
Junior has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Junior paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Junior fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wishay avoids it really well and circles away.

Wishay is pushing Junior's head away, looking to escape. Junior manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wishay is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Junior asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Wishay can't do much from the bottom here.
Junior really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wishay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wishay tries to buck Junior off but Junior is having none of it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
