PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jukka Miettinen (ranked 24979 p4p, 5679 weight class) and Jordon Winters (ranked 557 p4p, 526 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jordon Winters was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jukka Miettinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jordon Winters!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Miettinen.
Miettinen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Miettinen lands a nice looking body kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Miettinen.
Miettinen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Tank Factory in the buildup to the fight.
Miettinen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Winters tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Winters takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Winters on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A nice inside leg kick there by Miettinen. That's going to slow Winters down.
Winters takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Miettinen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Miettinen throws a head kick that misses.
Miettinen throws a wild body kick that Winters sees coming a mile off.
Winters let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Winters moves out of range of the strikes.
Winters unleashes a big counter combination but Miettinen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A slapping leg kick lands for Miettinen.
Winters moves out of range as Miettinen strikes.
Miettinen connects with a high kick.
Winters takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Miettinen scores with a head kick.
Crunch! Miettinen slams his shin into Winters's torso.
Winters on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A punch lands to the side of Winters 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Miettinen tests Winters's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Miettinen works the jab nicely.

Winters is rocked!

Miettinen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Miettinen lands the left hand.
Winters has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

Miettinen cracks Winters with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Winters is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Winters is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Winters is still on wobbly legs! Can Miettinen finish him?
Miettinen misses with a jab to the body
and Winters counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Winters seems to have recovered his senses.
Miettinen thumps Winters with a low kick.
Winters walks into a stiff left hand from Miettinen.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Winters sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Miettinen is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Miettinen cracks Winters with a good jab.
A chopping leg kick lands by Miettinen.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jukka Miettinen should take that round, based on the knockdown.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Miettinen tries to land a front kick but Winters steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Winters looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Winters defending well as Miettinen loads up on a big left hand.
Miettinen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A little jabbing left from Winters on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Miettinen lands a slapping body shot.
Jukka Miettinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miettinen jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Winters swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Winters moves out of range as Miettinen strikes.
Winters throws out a counter right but Miettinen avoids it with no problem.
Miettinen tries to land a body kick
and Winters counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Miettinen takes a swing at Winters's ribcage but misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Winters! But no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winters bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Winters swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Miettinen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice inside leg kick there by Miettinen. That's going to slow Winters down.

A little jabbing left from Winters on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Miettinen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Miettinen scores with a body shot.
Miettinen sizes up Winters with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Miettinen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Winters can do to turn this around?
Winters is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Winters takes one on the button.
Miettinen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Winters's sensitive parts.
Miettinen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Winters swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Winters tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Miettinen dips to his left and cracks Winters with an uppercut!
Miettinen cracks Winters with a right hand to the side of the head.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miettinen throws a body punch but Winters moves out of range.
Winters now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Miettinen lands a nice looking kick to the body. Winters takes a step back to recover.
Miettinen throws a switch kick that catches Winters on the top of the head and drops him to the canvas! Winters looks hurt - I'm not sure he's going to get back up! The referee starts the count but calls it off at seven as Winters flops around on the canvas, clearly in no position to continue! This fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jukka Miettinen!
