Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Cowan (ranked 296 p4p, 532 weight class) and Ricky Greene (ranked 23 p4p, 42 weight class). Greene is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Stepdad- Eminem. Ricky Greene has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Ricky Greene!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Greene slips under a jab.
Greene feints the counter takedown.
Cowan tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Cowan plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Cowan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Greene manages to avoid it.

It looks like Greene might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Greene seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cowan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cowan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Greene has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cowan has managed to get both his arms back between Greene's legs - danger averted.

Cowan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Cowan wants to slow Greene down by chopping away at his legs.

Greene takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Cowan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Greene can do to turn this around?
Cowan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Greene under the eye.

Cowan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Greene.
A jab lands there for Cowan.
Greene has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cowan finds it's way round the side to connect with Greene's head.

Cowan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Cowan tries to score with a low kick but Greene moves his leg out of the way.
Cowan loads up on a big right hand but Greene slips the punch.
Cowan throws a leg kick which misses Greene's front leg but catches the back leg as Greene tries to avoid it.

Greene has gone for a leg lock! Cowan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Greene's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cowan wants to stand and escape but instead Greene has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Greene is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Greene looking to sit in guard and control but Cowan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Greene trying to keep a closed guard but Cowan is proving a slippery customer.

Greene isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cowan stacks Greene on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cowan!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Greene is trying to maintain the position but Cowan is very close to passing his half guard.
